Little Things That Kill Lyrics

I bleach the sky
every night.
Loaded on wrong,
and further from right.
Spinning around,
to howling moons,
cos there always there,
whatever i do..

The river is loaded,
i've been there today.
Took it some questions,
she does me...

This song is about how the stress we put are selves through worrying about insignificant shit and other peoples view of ourselves can cause you to spiral into a depressive cycle(the little things tearing at my brain, and im addicted to fools: sum that up nicely). When you get depressed you tend to distance from things or people that are regardless of good or bad(bleach the sky every night, loaded on wrong but further from right). You start to only see the dark parts no matter how much you try to see the light and you even start to base your actions around the darkness(spinning around 2 howling moons, always there whatever i do). We go out into the world looking for answers. And furthering the concept of depression here, a narrow view of a sea would look like a river(river is loaded, ive been there today. Took it some questions). Now heres where it gets a lil tricky and also we elaborate and this narrow view i mentioned before, while the song as a whole is not about a specific girl, this next part is about how we want to find a person like us hoping they understand but then we use sex and relationships as a validation and we make promises we can never keep. We become attached to someone that isnt in it for the long run.(she did me again, id die in your arms if you were dead too. Here comes a lie, we will always be true). A common thing with depression is wild moods and mania but i think this part is actually a reference to how we hide how we feel from people and can seemingly be doing good when we are really falling apart inside(going up while coming down). And those little things are always working away at you(scratch away. Its the little things that kill, tearing at my brain again). To compensate for the lack of self love we give everything to others in the hopes that itll come full circle but the sad thing is even if it does a depressed person may not notice and just keep giving more of themself and if asked we will deny being depressed. Whats more is that eventually you forget not only the issue but also yourself which is just another issue you make yourself forget(the bigger you give the bigger you get. We're boss at denial but best at forget. The cupboard is empty we really need food). Sometimes you get twisted so far(summer is winter) and its hard to overlook all these signs(and you always knew). Eventually all these things something fails and you cant move forward(little little little). Then as you lose track of fantasy and reality, you have a so called moment of clarity. This causes more inner pain and you will inevitably effect those around you(i touch your mouth, my willy is food. Im addicted to love im addicted to fools, shit. I kill you once, i kill you again. We're starving and crude. Welcome my friend to the little things that kill).

Fucking meth addiction. "Spinning around" Spun out. Bleaching the sky every night to me is just a total reference of being in deep and you are getting high every day and night. All the time. "Loaded on wrong and further from right," knowing you shouldn't be doing what you're doing, but you won't or can't or don't want to stop. Struggling with your own addictions while watching someone you love do the same. It's tearing at your brain. It's destroying your mind
It's killing you. Everything you love. "Cupboard is empty, we really need food.." You ain't eating if you're tweaking. "We're starving and crude," you get so hungry in the end and very crude. "I killed you once, I'll kill you again." Shit will burn you time and time again until you realize you don't wanna lick the stove anymore. Spent the past month going through a very hard relapse after being clean for a long time. No song has ever so clearly described every aspect of what I was going through.

    its about opiate(heroin) addiction.
my interpretation of the song goes like this:

    1st Verse:
Every time he uses it makes the (night) better, but also further from actually feeling right(sobriety)...he's feeling great again knows the dope is always there for him.

    Chorus:
Going up and coming down just describing how you feel when you take opiates...going up but down and then just scratching away while you nod off.
the little things that kill is like an all encompassing reference for not just the drugs/needles, but also how the little things in life push you back to using again. its like this fight inside your head(tearing at his brain).

    Verse 2:
The needle is loaded, he's scored more drugs. he knows he shouldn't use and thinks he can maybe control his habit, but he loses the battle even though he knows the only true ending to his path, is eventually ODing with the needle in his arm. then he throws out a nice paradox self referencing statement, here comes a lie we will always be true. basically saying he knows what hes doing to himself and still does it.

Seems to me it's about a poor relationship that's filled with drugs and alcohol abuse....

    Little Things Lyrics
    Bush

A piece of sky every night
Loaded on wrong and further from right
    Spinning around two howling moons
'Cause they're always there whatever I do

The river is loaded, I've been there today
Took it some questions, she does me again
I'd die in your arms if you were dead too
Here comes a lie, we will always be true

    Going up when coming down
Scratch away, away, away, away, away
It's the little things that kill
    Tearing at my brain again
Oh, that little things that kill
    The little things that kill

Bigger you give, bigger you get
We're boss at denial but best at forget
Cupboard is empty, we really need food
Summer is winter and you always knew

    Going up when coming down
Scratch away, away, away, away, away
It's the little things that kill
    Tearing at my brain again
Oh, that little things that kill
    Tearing at my brain again
    Oh, that little, little, little

    Little, little, little
    Little, little, little

I touch your mouth, my willy is food
Addicted to love, I'm addicted to fools, shit
I kill you once, I kill you again
We're starving and crude, welcome my friends to

    The little things that kill
    Tearing at my brain again
Oh, that little things that kill
    Tearing at my brain again
    Oh, that little, little, little

    Little, little, little
    Little, little, little

    Here come the little things
    Here come the little

all in one this song "the river is loaded" may be heroin in your veins "i would die in your arms if you were dead too" love and drugs all the way, or love for the drug. the "brown eyed girl" b-man from spokane wa.

This song to me is about emotional detachment, starving for your partners affection. Little things like a touch, or a word. Things that kill a relationship

This song is about being poor and genuinly unhappy. Also looking for meaning in life and coming up empty, the drugs are also not helping the situation.

Back in the day I had a friend who was really into Bush. He told me that this was about an overeating disorder. This totally makes sense if you listen to the lyrics. "The bigger you kill, the bigger you get." Those little things add up really quickly.
