Pick a theology, any theology! And pick a point of view on it, too, because they're all here. Most Western English songs do tend to concern themselves mainly with Abrahamic monotheism - and keep in mind that Satanism falls under this category, too, since you have to believe the scripture to believe in Satan; you just happen to be rooting for the other guy.
Not all of these songs take any particular stand on religion, however. Some of them are merely spiritual in nature, while expressing a humanistic view that leaves an actual deity out of the scene, yours to believe or doubt.
