The top one is wrong. He thought he had someone he was going to live the rest of his life with they girl of course she left him that's why it's whole world came Unwound. He met a woman that was amazing had Talent was the coolest chick it ever met. She was too way too young that's why he would buy all of what father time would sell him as long as she came back around. His high school sweetheart or first wife when she left devastated him so the Negro kept him from thinking about it took in towards another light. She always had the answers because when you are traumatized by a really bad breakup like the kind where your wife kills your dogs and drugs you and tries to get you killed that leaves you not being able to remember or figure out simple things that's what she came in and had all the answers to the ones he couldn't find because it's hard to find the right answer when your head is full of s***. She took him for all she could get before she left that's why it was another fine mess he's got himself into. I have the same problem and I love this person but not sexually just she's an amazing woman she took me out of hell but she robbed me at the same time.

I believe he is talking to someone he counted on to be there, his father maybe...or some other guiding figure.

    Maybe I took for granted
You'd be around (maybe they passed away)
To pick me up on my way down (changes ahead in life)
I thought my feet were planted
Firmly on the ground (I though I could handle things, that I was ok to do life on my own)
'Til one day my whole world came unwound (life changed suddenly, first my dad had a heart attack, and stayed sick for two solid months; and then he was gone)
And like a ball of yarn
    Kept neatly on a spool
    You held the life together
Of this broken hearted fool (and now I’ve come unwound and I don’t see how to get it back together)
And what once was the exception
Now seems to be the rule (I have to figure this out on my own when I always counted on you to be there)
    And there's a burnin' question
    A fire in my mind
    You always had the answers
The ones I couldn't find (you were my person, the one I’d go to. And you always knew)
    So all I'm askin'
Is where are you now? Because I’m lost without you

I believe this song is pointed toward the good Lord above. Everything seems to be going wrong with nowhere to turn. Seeking answers from God with no helpful signs at that point in his life.
