World of Chances Lyrics
A shame you waste it
When you're breaking me slowly
But I've got a world of chances for you
I've got a world of chances for you
I've got a world of chances
Chances that you're burning through

It's about a breakup. She's basically singing about that she left the guy and wrote a letter to him and wrote "Goodbye" on it. And, personally, I really can relate to this song, too:)

I believe that this song can be taken from different perspective and no one should be judged of understanding the song differently. It might be written for the bullies that keep on hurting her continuously and she is writing about how she keeps on giving them a chance, (World of Chances) and she gives up on them ''I got a paper and pen, I'd go to write a goodbye'' (her suicide note) and when she says ''We're at an end.'' But then personally when I first listened to the song I didn't take it from the bullying perspective. I took it from a guy perspective, that there is a guy she likes but he doesn't like her back. He is hurting her and she keeps on giving him chances and when she says ''Maybe you'd call me one day, hear the operator say the number's no good and that she had a world of chances for you.'' HAD means that she finally moved on!
So the song can be understood differently. Both make perfect sense! I love the song so much

It's about suicid and not about a stupid break up. Every line shows that.

I believe that this song is not just talking about one person. It is talking about many people in her life who have ignored her, mistreated her, or just didn't understand her. She is saying that she gave them so many possibilities to notice her and what is going on in her life and they didn't so she writes her goodbye(suicide note) and ends it all. I also have another theory, that she is talking about herself and is saying to herself to notice good qualities about herself. But when the part of her that is not dead inside couldn't make a good argument she committed suicide. It is a very emotional song that has a lot of meaning behind it especially because Demi wrote it. I do not feel that it is just about a guy, because, like they say you can't judge a book by it's cover. -KL

I believe it means she had a guy she liked and he didn't like her and was even a bully or mean to her. And she couldn't take all the bullies anymore or the fact he didn't like her so at the end she commits suicide and he sees that if he had given her a chance they might've been really happy and is technically the cause of her suicide because he didn't love her.

Unlike everyone else, I don't think this song has to do with a boy. I think it's either about her dad or bullies. She says they have a face for a smile, meaning they could be kind but they're mean to her and don't smile. But no matter what they do to her or say she has a "world of chances" for them and then she says she's losing faith and she's "at an end." Then she says "I've got a paper and pen, I go to write a goodbye" that parts about her writing a suicide note. Then she says "maybe you'll call me someday, hear the operator say the numbers no good" this implies that they try to call her but find out she killed herself. After that she talks in past tense saying "she HAD a world of chances" meaning she committed suicide.

I don't know why but it tells me to get over someone but it is literally impossible. Then some parts of it tells me 'you know you got a face for a smile, ya know' just has me thinking she was mistreated or abuse as a little girl. This song might be looped with 'For The Love of A Daughter' because it talks about how her dad left her and basically abused her. She is just sending a message to all of the girls and boys that have been bullied and abused that it will be ok. And she does it in two words, "Stay Strong".

i believe it means the guy is mistreating her and not seeing what treasure he has. She's saying that she has soo much to offer him but he doesnt see it. and when he does she would have moved on by then

I believe this song is about a girl who likes a guy but the guy has a problem or is to shy to ask the girl out so she is basically saying you have a world of chances to ask me out.

This song means even if you want to give up on someone, you can't because you know you will always give them a second chance. That's why the song is called "World Of Chances".
