Battle Cry Lyrics

Just one more time before I go
I'll let you know
That all this time I've been afraid
Wouldn't let it show
Nobody can save me now, no
Nobody can save me now

Stars are only visible in darkness
Fear is ever-changing and evolving
And I, I...

This song is from Transformers and it's basically about how the conflict between the enemy and the hero is dwindling down to their last battle. "Nobody can save me now, it's do or die" is saying that the hero is losing, and it's fight to victory or give up and let the enemy kill him. "The king is crowned" is the enemy gaining the upper power, so the hero has to fight back or will die. "The only sound is the battle cry" is literally their battle cry as they fight their all into trying to win over the enemy.

Call me crazy, but I think this song is about depression. I know it was written for transformers 4 but just hear me out.
“Just one more time before I go I’ll let you know, that all this time I’ve been afraid, wouldn’t let it show. Nobody can save me now no, nobody can save me now”
He is depressed and contemplating suicide. He’s writing down that he’s been afraid all this time but couldn’t let it show for fear of being seen as weak or fake. He’s saying how no one can save him, he’s too far gone to be saved.
“Stars are only visible in darkness. Fear is ever changing and evolving. And I, I feel poisoned inside. And I, I feel so alive”
This is his journey through his depression. At first he is hopeful reminding himself “ stars are only visible in darkness”, hoping that it will get better. Eventually he realizes that it’s not getting better, and starts fearing that he will continue to feel like this, and that fear just keeps getting stronger. As time goes on he feels worse, like he is “poisoned”. But there is that small part of him still clinging on to life.
“Nobody can save me now, the king is crowned, it’s do or die. Nobody can save me now, the only sound is a battle cry”
He feels like he can no longer be saved. His depression is like a ruthless king, ruling him without mercy. He feels like he has to do whatever the “king” is telling him (self harm, lie, etc), or feels as if he’ll die inside. He is constantly fighting his mind, fighting for survival. He’s always fighting it, always feeling an internal “battle cry”.
The next verse is his continued struggle with his mind. This forever war.
The last verse, a repeat of the beginning, shows he is done. He has had enough of always fighting with himself. He’s broken. He has made the decision to kill him self and finally be at peace. He has left a note for his loved ones explaining why once they find him.
And that’s it. The end of this man, another life lost to depression.
    Anyways that’s my interpretation.

I think Battle cry means like someone has on a war and he has been named as a king. "Do or die," I think this means do what I tell you or die. That he is facing his fears, but handling terriably.
"Stars are only visible in darkness
Fear is ever changing and evolving
And I, I feel poisoned inside
But I, I feel so alive"
That he's proud to be who he is. The stars and darkness represent Good v.s. Evil and he has chosen Evil. He has declared battle on his enemy. No one can save him now. He has too much bad in him. But has a little bit of good left. That he is still human.

The part where its *star are only visible darkness* i think it mean hero's only appear in the dark's of times and then the part where its *nobody can save now king's crowed its do or die* it think it mean the hero cant be saved fate bought him here *king is crowed* its mean hero has been chosen *do or die* it means either you be a hero or die
    So yeah bye

To me, they are the words of a desperate, fearful or shy person, committing a major crime (a mass killing?), overcoming everything that would stop him/her of doing it. A display of his/her power over everything, over his/her own mind. The battle cry, to feel more alive than ever, an ultimate act over fear, before the end.

i think its a toxic relationship in which he feels insecurity ''ive been poisoned inside yet feel so alive ''
king is crowned its do or die, meaning he has his girl and has to stick up for her as long as he's with her ''all this time ive been afraid wouldnt let it show '' means he hid his insecurities from the girl. ''nobody can save me now'' meaning once you build that attachment its too late

I think it's that it's about a soldier who is trying to do what he thinks is right; fighting for it. When a "king is crowned", I think it means that an evil ruler has been appointed and the soldier has no choice but to fight and destroy the "king".

From the perspective of a soldier in battle that can be interpeded as a personal battle of the mind or a soldier's battle in a war that he is fighting in. i think no matter what kind of battle he is in , it comes down in him realizing that his ''pride in the false ego'', wanting to win at all cost, but he is loseing the war that he is in and his true self is calling out of fear for help to his troops as a ''battle cry'', knowing that he is loseing his pride to the false ego of his mind in tears as a ''narssisstic mortal wound'' by this war that he is in and there is nobody there to help him now. ''it's do or die'', anotherwords ''its all or nothing'' to the monster of the false ego who wants to win at all costs that he has to say goodbye to, because it wants to make him fight for somebody elses crown to make him feel like a king.

The lyrics and the fact that the song is featured in transformers 4 shows that it is the final and last stand. The hero is losing faster than he ever reigned victorious to evil as it slowly preys on what little hopes and dreams still exist
