I actually think it has a spiritual meaning embedded in the verses. It sounds like a woman trying to be pious......making a dress to cover her knees.......he asks. "For your days of fun and excitement, what will you leave to wear.....". As if there is a spiritual struggle. he assures he loves her.....in all her days of contentments. Sounds like he knows she struggles with that, ups and downs. it seems real and honest. I actually really listened to the words today and like it even more.
