I think teeth in the grass means there was a fight, someone got punched in the jaw, and their teeth are now in the grass.
So when everything is good in the end, people will have been beat up, deservingly, is the vibe that I'm getting. I could be wrong, though. -
I think the song says that no matter how good life gets, death is inevitable. We can find love, end racism and poverty, and expand technology, but we will continue to die. there is no escaping death in the end.
