Love Out of Lust Lyrics

Rather die in your arms, than die lonesome
Rather die hard, than die hollow
The higher that I climb
the deeper I fall down
I'm running out of time
So let's dance while we're waiting

We will live longer than I will
We will be better than...

This song is a ray of hope in an otherwise bleak future for me.
The relationship is flawed, or was flawed, but the reality is that when they combine, impossibly good things happen!
There is a lingering thread of uncertainty, am I doing this to not be lonesome? I'd rather feel the highs and lows than nothing at all. Running out of time is both a comment on the question of desperation, but also aa statement about using the time given to you.
The next few lines are some of the most beautiful I've ever heard, but lets save that for later.

Would rather experience this relationship than live with the question of what may have happened, even if the partner is not ideal.

"for life is like a flame
    and the ashes for wasting"

This line is a warning that the clock is ticking on all of us, so make use of every moment.

    "so honey don't be afraid
    to dance while we're waiting
we will live longer than I will
we will be better than I was
we can cross rivers without wind
we can do better than i can
    so dance while you can
    dance cause you must"

The words speak for themselves, loudly and clearly.
"We" can do anything. From the mundane to the impossible, "I" cannot.
A place and a state of being that is unreachable for either is within their grasp, but only together.
Even though they have their doubts about what being together might cost them, in the time between what they have together and some ideal perfection they are waiting for, "dance while you can"
