How Far We've Come Lyrics

Hello
Hello
Hello

Waking up at the start of the end of the world,
But it's feeling just like every other morning before,
Now I wonder what my life is going to mean if it's gone,
The cars are moving like a half a mile an hour
And I...

I feel as if the song is about not knowing your future and prefer to die to find out. You’re not prepared to talk about your problems to others and suppressed it all that there’s no more room for you. As you have no one to talk, no one to say bye to. Everything around you is crashing down and don’t know how to deal with it

When I hear this song, I suppose I’m sort of literal on this, but I think about climate change, that we’ve come a long way but there is still a long way to go if we want to save our planet. And of course “the world is burning to the ground” is pretty spot on. I don’t know how this was originally written but that has been my interpretation.

It resonates with me also that I feel pretty powerless, that my life is meaningless and I get hopeless. I suppose this song could be about any advancement we have made, like gender equality and LGBTQAP+ right. Or even technological advancements. I don’t know, ah well.

This song is depicting what it feels like to hit rocks bottom. There is crisis in the world, your sad, and your life just ins't the same. It'showing how we reflect on our past events and trying to enjoy the old days and distract yourself from what is happening in your life.

The songs about when everything is dying around you and life seems to be ending as you know it there is still the same place you have always known. No matter if the world is ending you just got to keep going.

I think that it's about looking back over the things we as humans have done to the world, and now, despite the evidence, people still are pretending that nothing is wrong.

This song was real personal for me in that I found it (or it found me) as I was living in my van as things were crumbling around me. "Let's see how far we've come" reminded me to look at the good stuff and realize that despite everything, I was moving forward.

I agree that the song is about the world ending, but I don't think Matchbox 20 is telling us at the time of apocalypse to reflect back on the course of the human race. I think they're telling us to grab someone and have sex, to put some pleasure in our lives before we all die ("how far we've come")

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think this song is talking about how the world is ending, and when it does we are going to see how far we've come, how well we've done, and how our lives are small compared to th world and how fa we've come. Kind of like " Dust in the Wind, by Kansas
