How Far We've Come Lyrics
Hello
Hello
Waking up at the start of the end of the world,
But it's feeling just like every other morning before,
Now I wonder what my life is going to mean if it's gone,
The cars are moving like a half a mile an hour
And I...

When I hear this song, I suppose I’m sort of literal on this, but I think about climate change, that we’ve come a long way but there is still a long way to go if we want to save our planet. And of course “the world is burning to the ground” is pretty spot on. I don’t know how this was originally written but that has been my interpretation.
It resonates with me also that I feel pretty powerless, that my life is meaningless and I get hopeless. I suppose this song could be about any advancement we have made, like gender equality and LGBTQAP+ right. Or even technological advancements. I don’t know, ah well. -
This song is depicting what it feels like to hit rocks bottom. There is crisis in the world, your sad, and your life just ins't the same. It'showing how we reflect on our past events and trying to enjoy the old days and distract yourself from what is happening in your life.
-
The songs about when everything is dying around you and life seems to be ending as you know it there is still the same place you have always known. No matter if the world is ending you just got to keep going.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song was real personal for me in that I found it (or it found me) as I was living in my van as things were crumbling around me. "Let's see how far we've come" reminded me to look at the good stuff and realize that despite everything, I was moving forward.

This song is talking about the end of the world, and looking back at our past.
