    I believe he knew she wasn’t right for him and he needed to let her go for her own good. She was completely smitten and falling for him but maybe she wasn’t good at verbally expressing it. Maybe he wasn’t smitten with her. He stood wide open on the steady shore, waiting for something or, someone, warm and tender. Not Her. He’s singing it to Her. It’s what she Wanted to Be. But it wasn’t what she needed the most. If he didn’t feel it deeply, he did right by them both to walk away. “ Girl, what you wanna be..”
