Our Lady Of Sorrows Lyrics

We could be perfect one last night
And die like star-crossed lovers when we fight
And we could settle this affair
If you would shed your yellow
Take my hand
And then we'll solve the mystery
Of laceration gravity
This riddle of...

Actually the guy that said it sounds like two lovers who could be lovers actually makes sense.

"We could perfect one last night and die like star-crossed lovers when we fight."

They will be friends one more night and end like doomed lovers when they break-up.

"We could settle this affair if you could shed your yellow take my hand."

    Forget your fear.

"And then we'll solve the mystery of laceration gravity."

Then we'll understand the cruel reality of life.

"This riddle of revenge. Please understand it has to be this way."

Something's keeping them apart, and they could accept it.

"Take my f***in hand. And we'll never be afraid again."

But they should go for it anyway.

"We've only got one chance to put this at an end
and cross the patron saint of switchblade fights"

They need to kill to be together. I think....

"You said we're not celebrities, we spark and fade, they die by threes"

It is saying love doesn't last forever. It sparks and fades, but dies even quicker.

"I'll make you understand and you can trade me for an apparition"

He's saying he will die and she can have his ghost

"Trust, you said Who put the words in your head Oh how wrong we were to think That immortality meant never dying"

Um I think it means they were wrong about love

"Just because my hands around your throat!"
They're killing each other for love.

I think the title ties into that saying. Either she regrets dying, or that she must die, or even that she loves him so much.

Under some imagination it could be about friendship. The sacrifice you both would make. Maybe just love in general...

I've really been thinking about it...if you read Romeo and Juliet....
    it sorta follows it...
so i think that it is about Romeo and Juliet...
Because i am reading the play in class....and this song got stuck in my head when i saw the words star-crossed lovers, in the prologue...or the chorus or whatever....
    just think about it.

Stick to your guns, believe in yourself and in the friendships you hold dear and nothing can stop you. above all else survive "take my fucking hand and never be afraid again"

Gerard - " We encourage you whole heartedly, to stay who the fuck you are, to express youselves however the fuck you want and don't ever, ever, take anybody elses fucking shit, because your better than them, your faster than them, and damn it your even better looking"

This is the first mcr song I ever heard and I've been hooked ever since. This song is the cry of stand with your brothers type thing and athem of unity and hope for the masses in black.
At least that is my interpretation. I may not have worded it brilliantly but I think this is a song that really does connect on a personal level.

This song is about staying strong for yourself and the ones you love, knowing that society is brutal, and knowing that it will always give you hell, but that together can have the strength to be unafraid to fight whatever shit comes our way.
"We can be perfect one last night,
and die like star-crossed lovers when we fight"
I'm going to go out on a limb and say this has to do with being perfect in the eyes of those that really care about you, as opposed to what anyone else thinks, and while it can and should be enough, you can still end up killing yourself fighting to keep the rest of the world out of your head (I do think "star-crossed lovers" is reference to Romeo and Juliet, in the sense that it ended with the protagonists killing themselves because their families couldn't stop their hating or judgement and the fighting).
"...shed your yellow take my hand
...solve the mystery of laceration gravity"
Don't be scared, take my hand, and together, we'll figure out a way to deal with the "cruelty of reality" (as said by another commenter), and take on the world.
"This riddle of revenge please understand that it has to be this way"
A couple of lines in the song (like this one) kind of make it sound as though he's planning on taking his life as his way of getting back at the world, to prove a point, a statement that says "this is what happens when you treat people like you do".
I could be totally wrong (if not most likely), as I said, I'm out on a limb. The rest of the song I'll leave for other people's opinions.

Frank's tattoo is missing two knives. The song's original title was "Bring More Knives". Think about it.

I Think this song is about a friendship that was coming to an end for some reason or another. And wanting to hold on to the friendship until the very end. "Stand up fucking tall...take my fucking hand." I think this song is telling you to look out for your friends and defend them against all the people who come and try to bring them down, even if you know the friendship isn't strong. "it has to be this way" I think means that "im sorry but it has to end."

Why is it called Our Lady of Sorrows if it has nothing to do with Our Lady of Sorrows aka the suffering Virgin, or a place called Our Lady of Sorrows?

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song is about two friends being so perfect for each other that they are almost like lovers but love is not forever whereas friendship is.

sounds like two lovers or friends fighting back and forth
*One is telling the person to trust him and not be afraid of other people
*And the other is trying to convince the other that she's not going anywhere

    *If this makes sense

Okay the line "And die like star-crossed lovers when we fight" Is clearly a very famouse line from Romeo and Juliet. If you must then look it up. "When a pair of two star cross'd lover decide to take their lives" And then the lines "Stand up fucking tall
Don't let them see your back
    Take my fucking hand
    and never be afraid again"
Probably mean don't listen to the people trying to keep us apart. In Romeo and Juliet the parents were trying to keep them apart so Juliet comes yp with a plan to fake her death and Romeo doesn't hear about it and thinks she's really dead so he kills him self. She then wakes up to find him dead and kills herself for real.
So maybe he's trying to day don't listen to these people. This night is the last night to try and then we die basically.

If they're just friends, then why does he say "we could die like star-crossed lovers?"

I think he's saying something about being brave (shed your yellow, and stand fucking tall don't let them see your back)

ok well I hope this helps.....
let's see. On the perfect "last night" they die like star-crossed lovers (people destined to be unhappy)and settle whatever problem his girl has, if only she would shed her yellow(which means cowardness)and take Gerard's hand. (which I wouldn't mind doin....)anyways. He is tellin her to "stand up fuckin tall, don't let them see your back (her walking away) and never be afarid again with Gerard there by her side. They have "one chance to put this at an end" (it is their last night) They pass the "patron Saint" (a guardian angel)they are "not celebraties" (they have their time to shine then the shine dies "die by threes" (I will make you understand) risking his life and dying rather then walking away "trade me for an apparation" ( a ghost-like fugure) "Trust?" it is what he was telling her to do, but then when the plan doesn't work and they die, he says "who were we to think immorality ment never dying?"

This song is about friendship. There is a live version of this song, and Gerard says something like:
"You probably came with your best friend, or one of your best friends...
I want you to turn to that mother fucker, grab him by the throat and say 'Your my best fucking friend, and I would die for you!'"thats were "just becuase my hands are around your throat"came from and this is about how he should say views friendship.this is my opinion not sure if I am right! LOL!
