   This song is used in it’s right context in the Movie Madagascar when Alex the Lion is shot with tranquilizer and starts to drift of into sleep and hallucinate. The Candy man brings the love, joy and quirkiness of life that can only be foundation under influence of hallucinogenic drugs.
   
   The verse ”Who can take a rainbow (who can take a rainbow?)
   And wrap it in a sigh (wrap it in a sigh)
   Soak it in the sun and make a groovy lemon pie?” is one of the more telling verses of how you are creating the reality to whatever you like and in it is foundation it is all ”mixed with love”.
   
   The Candy Man can bring the experience to you by giving you the right ”treats”.

   This song is about children and their love for sweets. Listened to the song about fifty times in one day. My interpretation of this song is that it is a feel-good song for adults to feel like children again and embrace their love for something they’ve always been craving(unless they don’t like candy). My parents have twisted the meaning of this song, but I argue that it is the most fun and innocent song of that time.
