Until the Day I Die Lyrics

Until the day I die
I'll spill my heart for you, for you
Until the day I die
I'll spill my heart for you

As years go by
I race the clock with you
But if you died right now
You know that I'd die to
I'd die too

You remind me of the...

I think this song tells a story of someone who has parted ways with the one he loves and he wants them back but finds it too hard to say so. Even though they are no longer together and no matter what they have been through, he will still do anything for her. I get the feeling that he has regret about leaving the relationship. He's angry and frustrated about something that had happened during their time together but yet he loves her still and can not live without her. He hopes she feels the same way also and thinks that even though they are apart the feeling will never really end.

I remember the lead singer discussing this song on a show I was watching a little while back. I can’t quite remember exactly, but he claimed it was based off of all their (the band mates) relationships with one another.

I think this song is about a person who made a mistake. It could have been that this person cheated or lied about something that caused the trust to be broken in the relationship. After begging for another chance both people decided to work through it and try to get back to better times. However, the person that made the mistake also gets jealous and now this person feels like he has no right to say anything. It seems as though the person that made the mistake is letting his lover do whatever he/she wants simply because he made that mistake but he still can't live without that other person- "until the day I die I'll spill my heart for you". "My hands are at your throat and I think I hate you, we'll say remember when just like we always do"- references to how frustrated this person is getting but still remembers that it was his fault to begin with.

I think it's pretty much saying that he'll be with his girlfriend until the day he dies and poetically he'll talk out his problems until the day he dies hence "until the day I die I'll spill my heart for you. I also think he's in conflict with her as well "my hands are at your throat and I think I hate you" maybe he's fighting between love and hate, I think she may have hurt him mentally and he wants to love her but he's beginning to hate her. Tell me what you think.
