Hyacinth House Lyrics
What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?
To please the lions this day
I need a brand new friend who doesn't bother me
I need a brand new friend who doesn't trouble me
I need someone, yeah, who...

Being an alcoholic , Jim simultaneously pushed sane friends away and pined for an unattainable soul mate. Toxic past experiences with Pamela Courson didn't help.
H H is a supremely poignant opus , equal with Air On A G String by JSB. Enjoy ❗ -

It uses the Greek mythology about Appollo, to reference about heroine addiction. His brand new friend is heroin.

Depression and paranoia was my first interpretation of this song.
Later in life I believed it was written just to confuse interpretation of an Avon product offered in California. -

It's Greek mythology. The Greek God, Apollo, had a lover boy named Hyacinthus. Apollo accidentally killed him in a discuss contest. He prevented the boy from going to Hades by creating a flower out of his blood, called the hyacinth. There some interesting tidbits about this story.
Supposedly, Jim Morrison felt sadness about his fame, after he couldn't handle it well, similar to how Apollo felt about Hyacinthus.
( While I would love to take credit for this, and I believe it, It belongs to my brother's friend.) -

I think this is about depression. People tend to believe that Jim Morrison was very liberal and extravagant, they dont know that he was a depressing character, very shy and alienated.
