mmm this song is a dig at the hippy culture of the day.
its not seriously saying he wants these things.
"I think I’m so educated and I’m so civilized
’cos I’m a strict vegetarian" -
It's a dropout song with a sense of humor. I'm sure when you listen to the lyrics on the album he's not singing " the airpollution is a foggin' up my eyes". In the demo that's clear but on the album, it sounds more like " fu**ing". As far as I'm aware that's the second time the Kinks got away with the four letter f word- the other time was on You Really Got Me.

It's a song about leaving the troubles of the big cities and civilization behind, it's about ripping off your clothes and living like an apeman. "Cause compared to the bugs and the spiders and flies, I am an apeman"
