   Although the song could be taken literally, I think it has something to do with Ryan and Jon leaving PAD.
   
   I need to take a vacation - may mean that he'll take a break from PAD.
   If this is settling down, then why aren't you here? - maybe something happened, and it's like they're saying that why aren't you here with us? or why aren't we together?
   I want a big celebration the night we get back in town and I hope you're all there - when they (TYV) come back successful, they're hoping that they'd celebrate along with PAD.
   
   We'll leave the waves at the ocean
   And keep them all in a picture
   --> As you guys know, a lot of RyDon stuff happened in the "Ocean" or "sea". Might be Ryan's way of saying "let's move on" and just keep them as memories in photos (or maybe... just more than photos). :DD
   
   We'll leave the cold where we came from
   Our loneliness will keep us warm
   --> Despite standing on their own, Ryan and Jon are happy (warm).
   
   We're goin' goin' goin' very far
   --> Might be Ryan's way of saying that TYV's a new journey for them, and like what he had experienced when he was in PAD, he and Jon will be "goin', goin', goin' very far"
   
   We'll leave the past out to pasture
   And take the days as they come
   --> Back in the past wherein Ryan and Jon were very successful, but they'll just leave it behind in the pastures, or in a happy place inside their minds. And even though starting a new band may be a bit difficult at first, they won't regret starting a new band and take whatever's coming at them.
   
   And leave the sand in the suitcase
   So we don't forget the fun
   --> This was a bit hard to figure out. When one thinks of the beach, sand and seas will pop inside your head instantly. Since people can be irritated or annoyed with sand, this may symbolize negative feelings (of something) locked or left inside the suitcase in order not to ruin the happy moment when TYV started.
   
   Just my opinion... :))
