We're Not Gonna Take It Lyrics

Oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore

we've Got The Right To Choose And
there Ain't No Way We'll Lose It
this Is Our Life, This Is Our Song
we'll Fight The Powers That Be Just
don't Pick...

This song came out in 1984, and the following year Dee Snider (song writer) stepped up and spoke eloquently for lack of censorship of music, in the lobby by politicians wives and others to impose censorship on much of rock music that they considered teenagers may listen to. I am not sure if Dee wrote this song knowing he would make a stand on this issue, or if the song itself has stood the test of time and become a rock anthem that metal heads still love, because Dee did not just talk the talk, but stepped out to show he believed what he sang and he did it in style.

The name says it all: its about a group of rebellious teens who are taking a stand against all authority figures who do them wrong. Pure, raw, in your face rebellion

This was a Yiddish to English translation of an old hymn that was sung in the jewish ghettos, and later in the concentration camps at Auschwitz and Krakau, Poland, during WWII. The lyrics speak out against the inhumanity of the Nazi regime against the jewish people.

Lore has it that one of Dee's childhood friends, Eugene Shlomo, introduced him to the song at the Bat Mitzvah of a mutual friend. Dee changed the original title from 'We're Not Going To Honor The Unjust Policies Of A National-Socialist Dictator Without The Due-Process Of A Democraticly Appointed Senate and Court System' to the more catchy 'We're Not Gonna Take It (...anymore)'.

Shortly thereafter a lone wolf howled, the south wind blew cold, I tugged on my beard and my hat fell off. The End.

This song is about A father and A boy. The father hates music but the son loves it so it starts A big conflict with them.

A song that ''was'' used to rebel in holding to a socially free society in the state of mind you were in as a youth that was changing politically and on a personal level trying to understand god, while rebelling against satan and the establishment who were and are part of the government that wanted to pass laws in the music industry to have more control over the artists rights.

Relevant today to be used responsibly as a political revolution rebellion to strengthen the youth in the spirit of ''O come all ye faithful'' to protest and rebel against all lies told to us by ''The Liers'' from the educational and political systems that have been letting us down.

From where we are '' entitled to be told the truth'' about what was promised, ''so for the end not to justify their means'' for us. And not to keep keeping us divided as a people from the truth [in world history, politics and religion] that weakened our individuality and confused our roles as man and women to ''reform'' that became manipulated against us for dependence on the system's agenda. All the while erasing and changing our memories from not to ''know who we really are'' as a individual person to rationally reason within our faith about the real truth. Where many ''Reformers'' originally wanted for us to be ''hungry to know'' the truth and live our lives in peace to serve, without all of the talk that became War, War and more War that has been going on to psychologically shatter our feelings for our human fellow beings that all together we're slowly losing empathy for one another not to feel the other person's pain and suffering who are in our lives and ''the other'' throughout the world that is more divided then ever ,but wants to come together.

Personally, I think it is a song about pure teen rebellion, but this would be an awesome song for the American Revolutionary War.

I've heard.. That the song is about how apparently dee sinder was beaten by his step father so the song is about him telling off his step dad. If you don't agree with me watever.. yell at the radio stations for saying that

Plain and simple: a group of people who arent going to take the mistreatment or whatever, perfect rebellion or protest song.
