With Or Without You Lyrics

See the stone set in your eyes
see the thorn twist in your side
i wait for you

Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you

With or without you
With or without you

    I don't buy it. It isn't about Christ at all. Although they do often have such lyrics in their songs this isn't one of them. "In 'With or Without You', when it says 'And you give yourself away', everybody in the group knows what it means. It's about how I feel at times- exposed. And the rest of the group feels that I give myself away."-Bono It is a very personal song about himself, dealing with love and other relationships with people. You can say it is about Christ but get a quote or something if you are "all knowing" of U2. Not that I clam I am, but I know this song and a decent knowledge of their stuff.

    I definitely agree with Picasso here. Thought I was the only one who had that kind of comprehension to the song. As 'tis unknown to many- U2's one of the pioneering acts to banner the label 'Christian band' in their arses, which a lot've seem to discourage, mainly record lables and them "proffesional" critics, perhaps due to the interest of fearing that that may not make them marketable. It's peculiar- playing the song backwards kind of say a line that runs just the opposite of what the song is on the line 'with or without you'. Just stating though.;

    Well, I doubt it mattboy....

    "With or Without You" from the Joshua Tree is a song about the relationship of the modern world with Jesus Christ. Listen closer...
