A Beautiful Lie Lyrics

Play "A Beautiful Lie"
on Amazon Music

Lie awake in bed at night
And think about your life
Do you want to be different?
Try to let go of the truth
The battles of your youth
'Cause this is just a game

It's a beautiful lie
It's the perfect denial
Such a beautiful lie to...

I interpret the song along the lines as (above). It about surronding ones self with some sort of facade or 'lie' and is about your manageing to convince you and those around you that the life you are living is 'perfect' and 'beautiful' when really you are in complete denial about the fact that you are truly unhappy.

Truly just a guess but probably about love and how most people will believe in anything to create an illusion of sanctuary for themselves. It comes down to the fact that we are in love with the very THOUGHT of being in love, rather than being actually passionate.

He is saying that his dream/daydream (the lie) is better than what his life really is. This song is pretty much wanting a new start or a new life.

I believe one word describes the lyrics best, "narcissism". They lie to convince the world their delusions. They also believe itd a game fits the narcissistic pepple I've met or known.

This song is about life itself being a beautiful lie that we all live. We fool ourselves into believing in death. Life is a game we play. It's an illusion, a dream state and when we awaken we realize we had been lying to ourselves the entire time about who we really are. It's quite a beautiful lie indeed...

This song is easily about how life is a game and a lie because we are creating a life inside of another life. This is all just a dream, death is an illusion, and when you awaken you will realize you've really been dead.

ok u don't know what inspires him or what was in his mind but this is somewhat logical. life was terrible nothing was working he starts to imagine his life as something better he ;ets go of everything no bounderies in his "day dream" or "lie" what ever you want to call it but he overdoes it and things go wrong. well all u have to do is ask jared wtf he meant

I think it's about people trying to hide themselves from the truth that the Earth is dying (The part where it goes "end of the world"), and that people know that the Humans are destroying the Earth but they don't want to accept it so they lie to themselves that everything's okay (A beautiful lie)

The song is about the climate change we are all going through. This is proven in many interviews, with Jared and/or the band.

i think that the meaning of the song is that ppl are convincing them selves that whats happinig to the world or the events that ppl are facing every day is just a game and a lie and its talking about the problem of global warming that leids to the end of the world

None of those... this song is clearly ANTI Christians... go to Second 3:16... nothing is coinsidence... you will see the CROSS...
also he is saying A BEAUTIFUL LIE ...
and guess what... JHON 3:16 is one of the most important messages in the bible... it talks about the cross and Jesus... and what is the meaning of it...
so he is clearly singing.. THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL LIE...
    nothing is coinsidence folks!...

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Global warming is a lie. It distracts people from what's really going on and what's really important. It gives people "something" to worry about. When I was a kid, they talked about a possible "ice age" coming. Now it's "global warming".

I would say it is about managing some sort of self image in which one includes lies to cover up imperfections. These lies are believed in and slowly become who the person is. He also refers to these lies to be "just a game". Showing that you can choose to be whoever you want to be as long as you believe in your lies. Also, refering to the lies as beautiful shows how perfect these lies are to believe.

It's a good song, I think it's about the beautiful things we trade for real fufulment. The real happeness is not in killing but giving, and people have lost touch with what is good and meaningful. Actions people have never even felt or even tried. We've traded our souls for cars ,houses, luxuries and beautiful things in a vain attempt to satisfy a need ,a hollowness that can't be quenched with things. We can identify only if we suffer if were hungry, then comes understanding.

Guys this is an anti God/ Religion song like Hurricane.
It basically saying that growing up with religion is a beautiful lie and that people should let it go. It is very upsetting to me that this band has many anti God messages in there music because I really like their style of Music but not their message... P.S. in the video near the end when he is screaming lie it flashes a cross.

I think it mean the person was lied that he was loved, but it was a lie because the other person doesn't want to hurt his feeling. But eventually the person found out that he was lied to and was tricked to keep on believing
