Call and Answer Lyrics

I think it's getting to the point

where I can be myself again

I think it's getting to the point

where we have almost made amends

I think it's the getting to the point

that is the hardest part

Call and Response is a musical form where the melody is passed back and forth between two singers or groups of singers. This song exploits the form both musically and lyrically. Like much of the BNK's music it's quite simple on the surface but amazingly sophisticated and beautiful if you pay attention.

So basically- it's getting over a break up--- it's to the point where if she calls, he won't just let the phone ring so as to not hear her or from her-- it's to the point where he will accept being friends with her even though he'll be the first person to let her know when she messes up.
