Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

Hey, Jude, don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your...

Ok. I was just wondering....what does the line, "You're waiting for someone to perform with. But don't you know that it's just you....Hey Jude, you'll do." mean?

Yes, this song is about John Lennon's son Julian, the lyrics are 'hey jude' but actually is 'hey jules' jude sounded better then jules so they decided to use it and it was supposed to act as a lullaby sounding song during Lennon's divorce

hey to the person with the remark about lucy in the sky with diamonds...um yeah hello for those out there that haven't gottne this before: it's about lsd..duh. lucy. In the sky. with diamonds. pretty obvious. you can't argue that one. So if they said that it was about the kid for that one, it was probably both concepts. So I think its the same with hey jude. Sometimes two concepts just fit together to make one song. He probably started it for julian, and incorporated the idea of heroine into it so the song was more complex. Its how good music is made. Its not always straight up about one thing.

Actually Paul came up with the name jude because it was derived from jules (julian lennon) and it sounded more western. And yes it was written to comfort julian during his parents divorce. I don't know why so many people think it has to do with heroin. People are trying to share serious interpretations and then you just come up with that garbage. None of the beatles even used the drug. There's probably only about 5% of their songs or less that are about drugs or were inspired by drugs. You need to get lives.

the moment "you let her under your skin" as in inject heroine..sorry. However, that part is just about as plain as day,

Ok... Hey Jude is: 1. NOT about Heroin
    2. About Lennon's son Julian
    3. That post above was not Paul McCartney!

I think you ALL have it wrong. This is obviously a reference to Christianity. It is Christian Contemporary before there ever was such an animal. Ahead of the charts like they always were.

Capitalist, you are a pompous faux-intellectual with too much information and not enough education.
"Can you guess which one?"... f off! What are you our teacher or something?!

to the guy who said about Lucy in the sky being about heroin as well, it could be just as the song hey jude could be but lucy in the sky with diamonds was said by the band to be about a picture lennons son did when he was little hence the weird colour of everything

though it could be about drugs and just covered up.
Maybe Hey Jude is about Cynthia or Julian about the divorce but also has a dual meaning for them about heroin.

Mccartney wrote it for Cynthia because of he felt bad for her after what she was going through with John Lennon but John Lennon always thought it was about him.
