Actually, they flubbed the names when they repeated the last verse. It's supposed to be "Molly stays at home and does her pretty face", like in the first iteration of the song. They didn't feel like redoing it, though, so they left it for nutjobs to misinterpret.

Kay Got Ya Here It's About two transvestites that get married and have kids in the very last verse on the white album version, "Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face and in the evening she's a singer with the band" That's my reasoning.....

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

When they were in India with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, there was a man at the camp with them who would say the term obl-di, obla-da, life goes on bra.

This song is about how two people can come together and love each other and can just get along and have simple fun and have no major cares in the world and it's about doing what you want no matter what and having a good life

It's about two people starting a relationship in a very simplistic manner. That's all there is.

Now, when I read the lyrics I don't see where I got this idea, but when I hear the song I always picture a black man and a white woman, probably because of the name Desmond.
