Coldplay: Spies Meaning

I said how do you live as a fugitive
Down here where I cannot see so clear
I said, what do I know
Show me the right way to go
And the spies came out of the water
But you're feeling so bad 'cause you...

this is about the music industry and how the devil and music and demons partake with one another and they constantly watch him but he cannot see them or touch them. he knows about this and many other dark things that go along with the music bussiness but which way can he turn tell the people of america through lyrics of songs and risk death from the higher beings or just go along with what they do and keep him and his family safe in the end he in a way laughs at himself for being so paranoid in a way.

It's about fear - the fear of death.
I wake to find, no peace of mind --
How did I get into this situation? The people I'm up against are just as ruthless as I am. It's just a job, so I know what I'm / they are capable of. I'm exhausted and fear that sleep will give them an upper hand allowing them to kill me while I am unprepared.
Then realizing his lack of sleep, the job, he realizes it's just a big game. That he is strong enough, smart enough, to out maneuver his opponent and he laughs at himself for being so paranoid. "They are JUST spies" mean they are doing a job, are not motivated, and are following orders. Soon the orders will change and he will be forgotten. He lives in a world of lies and deception and extreme cautiousness. It's exhausting for him to be the hunted instead of the Hunter.

This song really brought me close to god... or at least that's what my priest said to me in the church bathroom. Does anyone know the reason why you have to take your pants off anytime you pray with your priest as long as you're alone. He says it is to get closer to god but I have researched it and not found anything about it. Sometimes he makes me a bit uncomfortable, like at the church retreat I was peeing a lot and he was very concerned and he said he has his first-aid said he could give me a prostate exam but both of his hands were on my shoulders, i always thought you used your fingers but I guess he had a special tool for it.

I believe this song is about him feeling that he is constantly being watched and being followed. However, later in the song, it sounds like maybe he betrayed someone. That he feels insecure and like every move is being watched. So I believe this song is about betraying your friends and possibly hanging out with other people.
