Come Undone Lyrics

Mine, immaculate dream made breath and skin
I've been waiting for you
Signed, with a home tattoo,
Happy birthday to you was created for you

(can't ever keep from falling apart
At the seams
Can't I believe you're taking my heart
To...

I once heard Duran Duran in concert on Radio 1. When he introduced this song Simon LeBon said something along the lines of 'this is a song for everyone who's falling in love for the first time, cos when you come, you come undone'.

It's one hell of a deep song that I personally believe was written for me and me alone.
If I can make some allusions to Savage Garden's "I Knew I Loved You, my interpretation goes thus:
My one and and only soulmate, my Bliss, my perfect (immaculate) beauty, the one I've finally dreamed into life, you've finally materialized before me (made breath and skin) in the exact form I've always envisioned.
I've been waiting for you all along. I can clearly see "Home" elegantly emblazoned upon your angelic personality. In Celine's words, you're the place I call home.
I know that it might sound more than a little crazy, but I've always sent you the special birthday message that I wrote (created) for you on each birthday you celebrate (which has been communicated to me as a result of the divine bond we share). Point of fact, I was created for you alone.
For my protection, I've strenuously built the toughest defences around my heart over the years, but at the sight of you, I can't keep them from falling apart at the seams. And you've shattered them all into pieces.

it plays out to me as describing our struggle and state of mind when we discover our true feelings behind the love and fear we have in our relationships with each other and ourselves. It's so hard to accept them at first and we can either deny them, numb them, or be honest with ourselves, by honoring the emotions, and actually feeling them in all their intensity. The thing people lie about the most is about their feelings, when asked how we are, we give the socially acceptable answer "i'm good, i'm fine" ... but were not, and we're scared to be judged by others, we're scared to say we're scared.

I am grateful to have "come undone" many times in my life (I say that looking back, as its easier to do so now) and to honest about how I feel about things and people in my life. It's been hard to give myself the right to my feelings when we're in relationships that people don't accept how we feel as the correct feeling, they say, awwe, don't feel that way, you should feel this way, trying undo our feelings. What if I am the most qualified person to know how it feels to be me and each our own.

To be truly alive means to feel our emotions, even the undesirable ones. It helps to remember that the intensity of them are temporary if we move through them by actually feeling them, this is why we feel that big release and weight lifted when we find the courage to cry in a world that has so many false messages that crying is "breaking down" and a sign of weakness.

    be true to thine selves...

I feel maybe its about a relationship gone downhill and the person is just an emotional wreck because of it.

When I hear the song / read lyrics I think of Simon singing to his girls. So I think you guys are on the right track with young love or childhood innocence. Maybe a bit of both. As a mom of 3 girls I remember the heartaches of first love and then “coming undone” after love lost.

The one person who incarnate your desire, uses the power she have to hold your attention every time she appears, broken. Youre not her choice for life, not the first and not the second.. but youre the ONE for her crisis. No one else is. And her personality will push her to crisis over and over... and youre there.

It's about taking drugs when a person get depressed. "Come undone" is getting high.
"Mine immaculate dream made breath and skin"(Two ways of getting high, by smoking and needle thru the skin).
"Signed with a home tattoo"(needle into the arm)
"Might take a little crime to come undone"(having drugs is against the law)
"Or the magic i'm feeding off your fingers"(friend giving the jab)
"Lost in a snow filled sky"(high on cokein)

I feel this song has too long been a mystery. I step by step cracked this song and I feel I have a good understanding. It's about INNOCENCE. Here is my line by line interpretation compare it to actual lyrics, it also makes sense because in the video it shows a child discovering lovers:

    My beautiful child
    I've been waiting for you
You came here signed, with a kiss from your parents,
The song happy birthday was created for just you

(I can never keep myself together
Will you be taking my heart to pieces?)

Oh, it'll take a little time to get you undone,
    might take a little wrongdoing
    to get you undone

    (PRECHORUS)
    We'll try to ignore
the obvious signs of saddness and happiness (ideas of love outside parental love)
    Hey child, stay innocent
And make me cry for this world (leave parents behind to cry for childs growing up)

    (CHORUS)
Who do you need, who do you love (Questions the “child” will ask)
    When you loose your innocence
    (repeat)

    (Verse 2)
    Words, I feel I remember
I swear I've heard them before (parents love versus a lovers love)
Chills, are they just a reaction
Or are they magic I'm taking off your fingers

(Can't ever keep from giving away my innocence
Will you please take my heart to pieces?)

Lost, in a snow filled sky, we'll make it alright (despite all the confusion we will be ok)
    To loose our innocence.
