A dust cloud on the rise
Wild boys fallen far from glory
Reckless and so hungered
On the razors edge you trail
Because there's murder by the...

This is based on the 1971 novel of the same name by William Burroughs. In the book, packs of adolescent humanoids ravage the civilized nations of the Earth. When wholesale slaughter erupts, the battle continues underground where the survivors evolve into The Wild Boys.

I think its about being gay. Wild implies unnatural and boys implies its talking about a collective group of males. ‘They tried to tame you might be a reference to the social efforts to marginalise homosexuals. Saying ‘never lose it’ is stating theyre not able to change, ‘never chose this way’ sorta obvious. ‘Never close your eyes’ is like when your friends getting changed and he says close your eyes? But he doesnt cos hes gay? ‘Always shine’ homosexual success in film.

This song is about themselves, as rock stars, going through the pressure of being under a microscope. however, as bands do, they party hard, under the criticism of some. but regardless, "wild boys never loose it, wild boys never choose this way, wild boys, never close your eyes, wild boys ALWAYS SHINE!", they keep rising. basically, the more you hate, they more we shine..

I think the "Wild Boys" in this song are Duran Duran themselves. For instance, their "Girls on Film" video was banned.
