Epica: Chasing the Dragon Meaning
Chasing the Dragon Lyrics
-
The song was actually inspired by the Johnny Depp movie "From hell" and is about heroine addiction.
-
"Chasing the dragon" is also a term used for people that used/abused opium so there is an underlying theme of drugs or addition as anon pointed out.
-
The evil is within all of us. For me, this song is about our internal fights. Everyone has your own dragons to chase, it doesn't matter if you call them by depression, addiction, violent thoughts, malevolence, desire. It comes and goes, cause we're all human beings and we all have flaws that embarass us.
