Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

Like my fathers come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

Here comes the rain again
falling from the stars

Billy Joel Obviously wrote this one after nine eleven, I mean the title is obvious, then like every other line is a easy reference (I.E. The Innocent can never last, As My Memory Rest but never forgets what I lost, Here Comes the Rain again falling from the stars; the story behind that one is that in new york the night after the towers fell it rained without clouds becase of all the dust in the air for water vapor to gather on) and the new music video this one couldn't be more obvious.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
