Don't Cry Lyrics
There is something in your eyes
Don't hang your head in sorrow
And please don't cry
I know how you feel inside I've
I've been there before
Something is changing' inside you
And don't you know
Don't you cry tonight

Axl and Izzy fell for the same girl, the girl wouldn't make a choice between them and told Axl while sitting on a park bench "Don't Cry, Bill"

As someone who's lost a beloved, I interpret this song as a bittersweet comfort song for someone who's grieving. I really love (and hate) the line "you gotta make it your own way, but you'll be alright now, sugar// you'll feel better tomorrow..."
and of course, that heaven is above her, because he (the one who's past over) is up there, watching over her as her guardian angel :)
I believe he is singing from the grave, and the one who's grieving is in so much pain that they might be suffering a severe depression. Again, I see it that way because I know someone who still grieves (very tragically) for their lost partner after 3 years.
I read another interpretation that it might be about the aftermath of cheating in a relationship. I can half see it, and half not see it. It's all about someone else's interpretation, right? :)
Hope you (whoever is reading this) has a good day, and if it's really tough right now, or it's been tough for a long while now, I hope the sun will rise again for you.
