this song is expressing how if u let someone else interpret how ur life is, or the person u should be, then it wont be worth it to you in the end. You have to make yourself the person that you want to be, because if you dont someone else will shape you into a person that they want u 2 be...meaning they own u in one way or the other...make urself dnt let ppl run ur life...cuz they'll screw u...ppl are always looking out 4 themselves...u better do the same
