The singer has had an intense relationship with someone who was unavailable/would not commit. They are no longer together, but the singer cannot let go of her feelings, and thinks of this person constantly. The relationship was toxic, and she knows that she should let it go, but she can't let, even if the other person no longer thinks of her.

This song is about someone who is love with someone they can't express their feelings to. It's unrequited or somehow forbidden love. The person senses the beauty and spirit of the other, powerfully so, but is quite tormented by her inability to requite the powerfully strong love she feels.
