    Surely it's not a man who speaks, but a woman! "Go to him, stay with him if you can" says it all!

    I think he is speaking about A woman he was once involved with and he is saying that he could never get of her. The song provides a description of this woman and why he was drawn to her. He loved how fearless she was. He also makes reference to holy communion, which I guess means he still feels a part of him can never be removed from him or perhaps he sees her as his salvation. What a beautiful song this is though
