Jason Walker: Down Meaning
Down Lyrics
I'm standing at the back
And I'm tired of waiting
I'm waiting here in line
I'm hoping that I'll find
What I've been chasing
I shot for the sky
I'm stuck on the ground
So why do I try?
I know I'm gonna fall...
-
I'll tell you what this song is about.
I've probably listened to it for over 100 times now, first hearing it 5/6 years ago.
It's about aiming high - having those hopes and dreams, those desires to make others and yourself proud and happy. But - you fail, and continue doing so. People say that's life, but is it? What if it's constant failure... Asks Jason Walker in this masterful piece of music.
Missing way too much - missing a loved one? Probably not. Missing on happiness, on pride, on achievement - that's what he's referring to. When it happens incessantly, he "knows he's gonna fall down", because it always happens. How do we as humans continue to try when all we do is fall down? It's hard.
He doesn't want to hear the sound of losing what he never founds = failure. He doesn't want failure, and he never found success. Not again... he says. Not again. -
this song is actually the combination of being heartbroken and moving on or getting over it.He realizes that he began to feel lonely and sad.He waited for someone for him and to care for him.He thought he is gonna get over the past but he couldn't.He thought he was going to succeed but went down, whatever he does he needs to do it again but he can't.He looked around and realizes that he was just stuck in everything and everywhere.Just like the feeling of being stuck with all your problems
-
I think the song is about not being good for someone so you broke up with them.
-
This song is about wanting a girl / having a girl, but never could get himself there due to fear, commitment, etc. More so that he was waiting for her to get out of her situation, it could be he was trying to get out of his but never could thus can't hold on to what could've been. This is how I relate to his lyrics...
-
I think this song means he is trying to be happy but he can't cause he thinks he is lonely.
-
I think that the singer is searching for something and that he feels alone. He doesn't have anyone and feels lonely. He also feels that he cannot be with anyone and that all that he has is himself. He closes his eyes and pretends to be alright.. But that is not enough for him.And that his echo is the only voice coming back to him. And his shadow is his only friend. He just wants to feel alive again. Thus it tells us about someone who is alone and lonely and wants some sort of company.. He wants a friend. All he wants is that one friend that makes him feel whole again. It could however also be for a companion whose more than a friend. Thus.. He just wants to know if someone's out there for him and he just needs someone to be there for him.
-
I think this song is about pursuing one's dreams for fame, fortune, recognition, etc. You can play your songs for audiences, try to get published, or strive for any other goal you set for yourself over and over, and you will fail at those things over and over again...until you don't. One day, after all of that effort, you will finally get published, get your record deal, meet the love of your life, etc. Sometimes life is more about the journey than the destination.
-
He's looking for something. He looks for it but dosent find it....
-
This song is about a thing, which he is looking for and which he doesn't find. He doesn't know why he is looking for it or what he is looking for, but he knows that there's something, he has to find. He doesn't know why he looks for it every day, because he knows he won't find it. He knows he's falling down, again and again. But he doesn't give up, because then he won't know what he would miss, if he finds it. He tried it, again and again, but it doesn't work. He falls down. Again and again. He doesn't want to give up although he won't find what he's looking for.
