    Jennette McCurdy's song Not That Far Away is about her journey singing country music and getting into acting. Because of her singing and acting career she is often away from her family and she misses her mom. She's basically saying she's never that far away because her mother it always in her heart even though they are miles apart. But the song is also about how even though she misses her family she's still having fun and she knows she's where she belongs.
