Jim Croce: New York's Not My Home Meaning

New York's Not My Home Lyrics

Well things were spinnin’ round me
And all my thoughts were cloudy
And I had begun to doubt all the things that were me
Been in so many places
You know I’ve run so many races
And looked into the empty faces of the people of the night

Great song about a guy disenchanted by the big city being nothing like he ever expected. I've been in Brooklyn all my life and I feel the same way. More and more each day as the floodgates open to all the scum of the Earth sucking America dry. You're in a better place Jim.
