God Lyrics

God is a concept
By which we measure
Our pain
I'll say it again
God is a concept
By which we measure
Our pain

I don't believe in magic
I don't believe in I-ching
I don't believe in Bible
I don't believe in tarot
I don't believe in Hitler
I don't...

I agree: He had found mental freedom by seeing beyond the countless human illusions, whether they be religion, idols of the silver screen, humanitarians, politicians, thinkers, gurus, spiritual beliefs, ... And yet, he hadn't realised that romantic love is the biggest illusion of all. This song would have been the work of pure genius had he not included the line 'yoko and me'. You see, love is idealising something, a bond, a person... The only freedom is in ourselves, everything else is drugs /illusions to numb the pain, as he said. We do not need to believe in sb elses truth, when we only focus on being grounded in what's real,I.e.our own subjectivity!

A misunderstood song about John Lennon's own concept theory about ''God is a Concept by which we measure our pain''. Not for everybody of course, but used as a tool then to measure his own pain and suffering, with Who is really Life,Love and Consciousness in trying to understand Him and to make sense of this world while looking for The Other Real One. All by separating himself then from the ''illusions'' of religion[s] and the Social Construct[ion] theory of reality[matrix] that was beginning to be to unreal and crazy for him back then, who just wanted to come out of her and become a natural born again individual when studying eastern Taoism as a form of Christ consciousness with Yoko back then. Knowing the realization not to respect and believe idiolized things of''PERSONS'' made to act like God or play God anymore, but just wanting to believe in his real self, as a Man, a flesh and blood living soul to who the ''words of God'' were revealed to his heart and soul.

This song tells you about the meaning to life. John discovered the meaning to life and tells you what it is in the lyrics of this song. If you know what the meaning to life is you will understand the lyrics to this song. THIS IS JOHN'S GREATEST SONG.

For all the religious fanatics, this is a description of satanism.
For all the John Lennon fans, he is a hero of mine, and this is not meant as an insult.
For all the satanists, tell me how this isn't an example.

John is saying that he beleives in himself because, it's important to beleive in yourself before you beleive in something else. The dream is over is about the hippie dream in the 60's about peace and love. " I was the walrus but now I'm John" is about the beatles and John is finally tell us who the walrus really was Him!
