I hardly think she is writing a song about male and female romance. Could she stand to be so typical? Marvella makes an excellent point about role reversal and a starvation for power, but I also had another interpenetration of the song the first time that I watched the video. We know Gaga's struggle with substances, be them alocohal or drugs. How can we not assume the love hate relationship with them?

The water poured down her throat by the nurses? Is this not a reference to being in rehab and being forced to terminate your relationship with that which you love, though it's killing you? She is trying to be free from the romance to substances that ignite her, but eventually destroy her. At the end, she feels like a whore to the destruction, but can't help returning for more.

this song explains her romance with the fame, I mean she loves so much to be famous but It makes her a slave... for example in the beggining she was a inocent girl (a newbie in the fame) her big eyes represent inocence and she refuses to take the fame poison but then she realizes that is a part of the fame, so stop crying and starts of dancing like a expert to music business because He is who decides to give her fame or not, there are more lovers of the fame compiting too... finally her dream comes true, the fame choses her and now she can be a consort of the fame.

    Ra-Ra-

    or Re-Re

    revenge, of the Egyptian gods.

Re (Ra) was the Egyptian sun god also Re-Horakhty, meaning Horus of the Horizon, referring to the god's character. The early Egyptians believed that he created the world, and the rising sun was, for them, the symbol of creation. The daily cycle, as the sun rose, then set only to rise again the next morning, symbolized renewal and so Re was seen as the paramount force of creation and master of life.

Everything about culture, including other women--those who force her to have the cocktail--try to objectify Gaga. This video is about how power and control over Gaga masquerade as "romance." Gaga turns the power dynamic around. She usurps the male gaze that and turns it around during the video. She wants a "Bad Romance" where the traditional notions of "romance" are undone. She turns the camera on herself, defeating the male gaze. She turns the gaze onto the men in the video. She continually points to her eyes. Near the end we see her coming toward the man on the bed. He's becoming and object. Then, the camera turns back to her and we see him as an insignificant reflection in her mirror sunglasses. She takes his sexual power away from him and he is devoured by her fire/power. Of course, she, too, suffers from this and is depicted as a worn-out tart at the end, but the power dynamic has been altered. It leaves us wondering if power isn't always corruption.

She is saying that, no matter what, she wants to take everything about said person, the ugly parts, the beautiful parts, the mysterious parts, etc, and she wants to love it as much as she can for as long as she can. She's not afraid to love some attributes of someone that others find distasteful, nasty, wrong, or otherwise. She is saying she wants to love the person for who they are, not for what society wants them to be, or for what they haven't been able to prove to society. She doesn't care if said person is a crack dealer, a doctor, a victim of discrimination, or a person of high respect. She feels that everybody has a skeleton or two in their closest, and they shouldn't be afraid to love everything about said person, and everything about them.

This song is about lady gaga, falling in love with her friend, and she thinks she loves him, but really subconciously she is just dating him for the publicity or her inner thrill, she wants to date a badboy, and his badboyness is his most attractive quality, expressed through her clothes, she is theatrical, showing she wants to be from a diffrent time, she is trying to create herself as juliet in her songs, but her losing her friend is almost stopping her.

This is Gaga's fear of love monster from her latest album The Fame Monster. In this song, she is basically talking to a lover pleading to them to open up about all of their flaws. By "Bad Romance", she is saying that she needs to know all of the things that you think anoyone else would hate because she would still love them.

Its about her wanting to be in a bad romance with the devil, and the music industry. She has alot of satanic symbolism in the video. She is chanting to satan. if u notice the "rah rah rah" means the sun god, rah.

So basicly she's fascinated by the whole idea of being with this guy she's after. She yearns for him so much that she not only wants his good attributes; but wants his flaws and his bad side too, suggesting a kind of duality to the guy which she likes. Im guessing by the lyrics that they're probably friends but she wants to have so much more with him; but for some reason theres somthing in the way of them being together which makes her romance a *bad one* its either that or she just wants a bad boy :)
