   Ok this song might be about drugs, but it also might be about a person who Josh is in a relationship with, and he is addicted to her but she is just using him
   
   This might sting a bit
   Josh is starting to feel hurt in his relationship
   
   You got in just in time to see everything fall apart
   The relationship started off good but now you can see the cracks
   
   I'm not upset at all
   He's used to it so he doesn't feel bad for himself
   
   But it's sad to see that everybody knows that I've been down in here before
   It's one of those relationships where she's being mean so he finally leaves her, then she crawls back saying she needs him, so he feels sorry for her and let's her back in, and so on
   
   And maybe I could want it more I know I never tried to stop
   He isn't really trying to give her up because he's completely wrapped round her finger
   
   So what's one more excuse guess I just like the abuse
   He's addicted to her even though she's just using him, so he's making up excuses to stay with her
   
   Dizzied up in my never try vertigo
   He's stuck with her and he can't get out, and he doesn't really want to either
   
   They're calling out for blood
   She's just using him and he's giving her everything
   
   Disappointed and who'd have thought that this would be me and my everything
   Josh never thought his whole life would be wrapped up in one person
   
   Is this pound of flesh enough
   That's a reference from Shakespeare where Antonio made a deal with Shylock and now has to keep it. Josh has become committed to this girl, and he's keeping up his side of the deal no matter what
   
   And I will cut away until you say enough
   He will keep on giving her what she wants, and she's being really needy and abusive, but he doesn't care
   
   And maybe I could listen more
   All Josh's friends and family know she's no good, and he knows he should listen to them
   
   And then it's just the chorus

   Vertigo is basically about how Josh was addicted to Heroin.
   How at first he liked it and feeling vertigo (Dizzy) felt kinda good at first.
   And how when he did heroin he could hear his heartbeat inside his ears.
