I think this song is about two people in a relationship but his past relationships didnt turn out so good and so hes still insecure and broken from the last one and hes afraid.

I think this song is about one significant other emotionally abusing the other.. That she made him believe that she loved him. And that the love was fading and breaking his heart. The guy is obviously hurting but wanted so badly to believe in her but she didn't give him much reason to and realizes he has to let her go. Its one of my favorite songs from mayday parade. Made me cry the first time I heard it. <3
