This song is about the feeling you get when you sit down for a hefty meal, with three solid plates of meatloaf. You dig in face first, expecting to devour all three in seconds, but right around one and a half you start farting uncontrollably and feel really full. By the end of plate 2, You have to stop. Feeling slightly disillusioned, you mutter to the dog, "2 outta 3 aint bad" and fall asleep.

This song is about loving someone who doesen't love you back. It could be a boy/girl friend, favorite relative or friend. Love in vain. We've all fell victim to it at some point. The singer is trying to apologize for not loving a girl back but assuring that he wants her and cares for her but simply cant find it in his heart (not very big) to love her because his heart has been stolen by the girl who left him on a stormy night.
