Hurt So Good Lyrics
Said put away those young boy ways
Now that I'm gettin' older, so much older
I love all those young boy days.
With a girl like you,

Lord knows there are things we can do, baby,
Just me and...

You guys are so wrong !
I feel sorry for any heterosexual guy who doesn't know the meaning of this song !
Annie was her name and she taught me how good sex can be. She made my hardon so hard that it started to hurt !!
Lets just say that she was the perfect (very beautiful stranger, we were both very young, and I was fit back then. And a roman catholic !
Brad Pitt said to his lover in the movie Troy that the gods were jealous of us because we were mortal. Annie taught me this too, because I knew that it would never be better than right now !

The song originated when John's girlfriend had an acupuncture procedure done on her by Johns mother. She commented to John that it "hurt so good" John wrote this song shortly after.

Hurt so good interpretation is seen at wikipedia.
About the type of sex you are mentioning, I don't think it can be done by girl girl! How are they going to have a butt play? Your interpretation is outrageous!

Woah! Hey, to each his own but despite the upbeat from the back beat (and I don't mean that "back beat") it really is more about feeling the years pass and still wanting to have fun. Even turbulent, adolescent fun and even if it hurts, well, it hurts so good...as in rage, pain, and heartbreak if that's what it takes to feel good. What a way to live ;p

In this song, John is trying to reffer to sexual acts commited by the consentual couple. Although love making is involved in this equation the manner in which it is peformed is "for some.." alittle unconventional. The Intercourse that is being played out is of anal nature. This does not how ever limit this act to the famale, but extends to the male receiver aswell. This thoery of rear coersion towards the male partner is proven by the chorus line "Sometimes love don't feel like it should, You make it hurt so good". Some believe this hypothosis is ill-mannered and rude but in the words of John Melloncamp "Just tryin' to give myself a little bit of fun, yeah".
