Down in the depths of my fiery home
The summons bell will chime
Tempting you and all the earth
to join our sinful kind
There is a job to be done and I'm the one
You people make me do it
Now it is time for your fate and I won't hesitate

I kinda see this song as the first of Metallica's "elemental death" trilogy - Jump in the Fire, Ride the Lightning, Trapped Under Ice. It's also interesting to note that all songs relate to situations where death is inevitable due to being trapped, whether physically or because of the influences of other people or substances. Then again, a lot of Metallica songs are about that...

Actually, yes it is from the devil's point of view, but it's about how quickly people succumb to doing what's wrong, so they "jump in the fire" without hesitation.

This song is from Satan's point of view, because people are killing themselves nonsensically, and they are all going to Hell, thus they are "jumping" in the fire of Hell.
