Cooler than Me Lyrics

If I could write you a song to make you fall in love
I would already have you up under my arm
I used up all of my tricks, I hope that you like this
But you probably won't, you think you're cooler than me

You got designer shades just to hide...

This song is from the point of view of a guy who thinks the girls he likes are too vain or they act like they are too good for them. "If I could write you a song, to make you fall in love, I would already have you up under my arm." means he liked this girl. "I used up all my tricks. I hope you like this." means he's ran out of tactics to get close to this girl. "You probably won't. You think you're cooler than me." means the girl thinks she's too cool for him.

The song was recorded st my ex's place and it outlines my life in Vegas where I would walk thru the casinos at night with my shades on and frequently came across as a snob because I wouldn't sit and chat or give any guys the time of day. A lot of people seemed to misunderstand me those months after my separation from my ex. One of my favorite things to do to him when he would call me was to act like I didn't recognize his voice or know who was calling. I wasn't a snob, just hurt, and withdrawn and shy at times so while I loved getting dressed up and looking hot I was too broken up and a mess. Not to sound beheaded but I had everyman attention in Vegas at the time and could have cared less cuz nobody was getting close to me again. Yea, my heels cranked thru the casinos lol, yea its funny I was hiding behind those designer shades. Ugh, kinda had me pegged for the most part except I'm not stuck up.
