I think its about ww2 because it saying "one shot heard around the world" like the bombing of pearl harbor or where it says "being bread to lead to slaughter" like the Jews as in bread and concentration camps as to slaughter

I heard and listened to the song many time since i first heard it. It talks about the mind of a soldier and the process of brainwashing him into kiling others in the battlefield. Being bred to go to a slaughterhouse (like vietnam) and how the world is ignoring it.
