This is what the song is really about. Had nothing to do with "depression" but the struggle of going through hard times, iin the media, a court case and then appreciation of the return of a band member. A lot of songs on this album were written about this tough time in life. Don't mistake "hard times" with depression.

I think the song is about deep depression and going through hard times. They are singing about hard times and thinking about why even try if it's difficult. Also, I think they are talking about a relationship and loving each other.
