I think this is a story about the spanish Conquistidors in Peru/Mexico/Florida. They came to conquer but only died. Almost all of them died. Even Pizarro & his brother died after conquering the Incas. They reeked of purity because they thought that killing Indians was the right thing to do according to their religion. They could do no wrong. They came hoping for something to find like a paradise & gold. They only found a maze to unwind. DeSoto & Ponce De Leon wandered thru Florida & never found gold. All the Conquistidors had battles & problems with their own men & never did find their paradise.
