When love breaks up
When the dawn light wakes up
A new life is born
Somehow I have to make this final breakthru . . . Now!

I wake up
Feel just fine,
Your face
Fills my mind
I get religion quick
'Cos you're looking divine

This song could very well be interpreted into a love song due to its music video and lyrics. But when you take the timeline of when this song was written into consideration another interpretation could make sense too. Before this song, the band struggled with who got credit for writing what songs because that was the person who would make the most money on a song. They had finally decided to give equal credit to every member in each song so they all made the same amount of money, this is when the song was created. I think they were all so relieved about this "breakthru" and that is what drove the band to write this song.

To me this extraordinary song is about a guy who wants to get a girl's attention. You hear in the lyrics"if I could make you smile that would really be a breakthrough. I think this guy is trying to breakthrough to her heart.
