Rascal Flatts: Life is a Highway Meaning
Song Released: 2006
Life is a Highway Lyrics
When there's one day here and the next day gone
Sometimes you bend, sometimes you stand
Sometimes you turn your back to the wind
There's a world outside every darkened door
Where blues won't haunt you...

#1 top rated interpretation:honestly, i think the song is about all the ups and downs in life and what you will go through. it shows that you will go on your highs and your lows and you will live (drive in songs case) through them. in a highway, you can only go forward, with other cars, so this says that you can't look back and that you have to move on with life along with everyone else.

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:This song is a metaphor for taking risks and living life to the fullest, this song is a beautiful tribute to life and how great it can be if you step out of your shell or comfort zone.
-
3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:it is a song that shows the reality of life, the ups and downs of life and how one never know when life ends as one never knows the ending of a highway.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Life is a highway is souly about Wonder Pets and the adventures they go through together. If you can't see that then you are dumber than a villain in Wonder pets because WONDER PETS WIN
-
My ass cheeks burn.

I personally believe that this song 'Life is a highway' is truly about club penguin. This is because, well everything is club penguin, so like this song is truly talking about how in Antartica everything is night and penguins wanna ride the ice slopes all night long. :)
-
The purpose is to show how life is an ongoing journey. You travel through and the point/message of the song just that you should keep going no matter what is thrown at you and no matter what you go through.
-
life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life. life.
-
Gee golly if the people can not see that thus song is about the deed then ya'll dumber than a dog on halloween. :)
-
This song is clearly about sex. “I’m gonna ride it all night long” I mean really people? It’s so obvious.
-
It seems all about sex to but, in "Cars" it's all about fun, kids dont understand that song fully but, adults do.
-
In my eyes, it's a song about life's ups and downs, humps and bumps just like a road. Indicating the love these two people have with have a fair amount of good times and bad but no matter what they're in it together until the ride ends (life).

This song could be percieved as a song about Hope...that life is short and no matter what burden one must attend to "break down the garden gates and sail away," their love still survives; "I love you now like I loved you then." It could equally be heard to mean that (two lovers) could survive the long, long road of heartache just waiting for the other to turn on the light as a beacon guiding one home. The vehicle (presumably truck) could also be an indication of the light to say something like, I still love you and wait for that day when we may ride the highway of forever. A fucking cruel joke that needs to end. Whoever you are and however many, I've stayed out of your life, please stay out of mine. It's gone on long enough. You can pick on me all you like, but if you so choose to pay the same homage to those I love; who are like my own blood, you will see my claws come out and I fear it won't be a pretty sight. The End.
