Charlie Lyrics

All aboard, stitch in time
Get yours, got mine
In a minute, I'll be there
Sit tight, get square

You could do it at the hippodrome
Slide back, trombone
Anybody got a TV tome
Thats right, unknown.

When I pick up on that smell
Pick it...

Theres a video that comes with the special edition of Stadium Arcadium in which Anthony, John, Flea, and Chad discuss every song on the album..

Charlie's supposed to be your imagination or something like that.

Although I respect Anthony, it seems like it's about coke. Maybe the past?

You guys should read Anthony's biography, Scar Tissue. He doesn't do drugs anymore, so it's probably not about drugs.

Pretty sure this is about cocaine..
    Charlie.. 'C'..
"Charlie's waking me.. Charlie's shaking me.. Charlie's making me smile.."
    "Eveready it in disguise.."
    Totally coke.

Listen to this song and the interpretation is it's about strippers. just about any and every part of the song is about strip clubs, getting a lap danc and so on.

    "and charlie's making me smile"
    "lay down, get kissed"

we all know the "stripper" smell
"when I pick up on that smell, pick it up and run like hell"

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

i can't come up with all of it but I would say the "When I pick up on that smell
Pick it up and run like hell
    Little woman save me some
Better get up on your run" part is about smelling someone possibly a ex-girlfriend hense the "little woman" part doing drugs maybe weed since he is smelling it( other wise i'd say it was heroin) and him taking some of it or her giving him some. And the "So much more than
    Charlie's wakin' me
    To my core and
    Charlie's shakin' me
    And tell my story
    And Charlie's makin' me
    And Charlie's makin' me smile
Oh oh now" part is about him doing the drug and how they made his body and mind feel.
