I Could Have Lied Lyrics
In the way I feel
That she don’t want me to feel
The stare she bares cut me
I don’t care
You see so what if I bleed
I could never change
Just what I feel
My face will never show
What is not real

i think this song means something slightly different. I think its about a boy who loved a girl and told her, and even dated her for a while, but he ruined the relationship by doing drungs "im fucked up now" so now instead of being with her he's living a party life and she wants nothing to do with it. it really breaks this girls heart that he chooses that life over her so "he could have lied" meaning he would never have hurt her if he just stayed away from him. "i don't care i won't be spared" implys that he isn't planning on changing but he wishes it didn't have to hurt her.

This song was written right after Sinead O'connor called anthony and said I'm moving out of Los Angeles tomorrow, and I don't want you to call me or come by before I leave. 'it went from , "cant wait to see you again" to " Don't call and don't come by."-scar tissue
Anthony was devastated and wrote this song after this rough time.
This song was written about Sinead O'conner.
"The stare she bares have cut me" - the expression he got when he told her how he felt.
"My eyes could never never never keep their cool"- he couldn't hide his feelings.
"My face could never show what is not real"
"I showed her and i told her how she struck me but im fucked up now"-he confessed his love to her and got blown off.
"Now shes gone yes shes gone away"-sinnead left and told anthony not to look for her or contact her.
If you want the cold hard facts, try reading Anthony's autobiography, Scar Tissue. It's a great book.
