The Spirit Of Radio Lyrics
A companion unobtrusive
Plays that song that's so elusive
And the magic music makes your morning mood
Off on your way, hit the open road
There is magic at your fingers
For the Spirit ever...

Yeah I concur with Chad what he says is all very accurate as well as I know it. Been a fan of Rush over.... (trying to do the math) well since about 1978, heh 40 years, ack I could be old, but I am still in college, that might be a record of some sort. I been real tired of radio and tv formats for quite some time over this very issue. There should be a all horror channel, an all standup comedy channel, all comedy movie channel, all fantasy channel, etc. Heck in this day an age we should be able to program our own TV & radio formats from our homes. I do appreciate satellite radio & the music channels by genre on satellite as well.
I saw a request for this on the list. I will at least get you closer to understanding it. "The spirit of radio" was the slogan of a radio station in Toronto, Ontario. Alex recently stated that the station that inspired the song won't even play Rush anymore, as they have changed formats. Pearts lyrics reflect how commercial radio had become, and how in the early days of rock radio, you could still hear more obscure, yet talented bands. Today's radio has been highly compromised by greed.
